Society Of Maintenance and Reliability
Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) to re-launch
certification program under new name.
McLEAN, Va., March 10, 2011 — The Society for Maintenance
and Reliability Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO)
is pleased to announce that the Certified Maintenance and
Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification program will
be re-launched to the public next month after nearly two
years of volunteer efforts to align the body of knowledge
and to enhance the process and procedures for administering

At the October board meeting of the
Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals Certifying
Organization a decision was made to extend the time allowed
for CMRP exam candidates from two hours to two and a half
hours. This change will take place starting December 1 of

Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) Attains Approval
For Reimbursement of Exam Fees Under the GI Bill
McLEAN, Va., June 28, 2010 — The Society for Maintenance
and Reliability Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO)
is pleased to announce that the Certified Maintenance and
Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification program has
been approved by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs
and will be added to their list of certification exams that
military personnel and Veterans can be reimbursed for.

SMRP Hires New Executive Director,
Barbara Dunlavey, CAE, CMP
Barbara Dunlavey, CMP, CAE was selected by the Society of
Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) as the
Executive Director to focus on the growth and advancement
of the society. SMRP leaders concluded an extensive search
for a new chief staff officer in December and Dunlavey began
her new role at the first of the year.

the Best Practices Committee with the identification and
development of standard definitions for common Maintenance

McLEAN , VIRGINIA , January 31 /SMRP/ - - When a company
wants to compare maintenance and availability performance
internally or externally, they need a common platform in
terms of predefined indicator so that they can compare apples
to apples. This challenge is being met by the SMRP (Society
for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals) and the
EFNMS (European Federation of National Maintenance Societies).
These two maintenance organizations have launched a joint
activity to compare and document existing indicators for
maintenance and reliability performance. This will help
the maintenance manager to understand the indicators and

14th Annual Conference in Birmingham, Alabama. More than
80 experts in the maintenance and reliability field presented
